Justice for All
After flying several unofficial banners for over a century, Congress established a commission in 1938 to choose
an original design for an official flag. Graphic Designer Charles A.R. Dunn submitted his design of two red stripes and three
stars on a white base to the flag competition. This same design, based on the shield from George Washington's family coat of
arms, is still flown proudly by the District of Columbia today.
Available in three different sizes to fit your space requirements. Select from heading and
grommets only, pole hem only, fringe only or pole hem and fringe together.
