The Centennial State
100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Colorado
was entered into the Union earning it the nickname of the Centennial State. Thirty years
later, Andrew Carlisle Johnson designed a flag to represent the stunning beauty of the
state of Colorado. Wave your Colorado colors proud just as Johnson intended them to be.
Using four different colors, Johnson was able to represent the natural elements in
							Colorado.
The blue stripes across the top and bottom of the California state flag represent the skies.
The center stripe was colored white for the snowcapped mountains, the red C shows the
color of the soil in Colorado, and the golden disc within the C stands for the warm
							sunshine enjoyed by the state.
